It snowed last night. It was the first significant snowfall of the season, and required some clearing. I woke up this morning to some noise in the street, at around 9AM, a road grader was plowing the snow. Yep, they haven't learned since last winter…
So the road grader left this snowbank in the middle of the street again, which would have made getting out of the driveway difficult. My father called to complain about it, and it worked pretty well this time. Someone from the city actually came over to the house soon after that to see it in person and talk to my father about it.
They sent a backhoe to clear it up later in the evening, and that did a pretty good job.
I've been pretty tired for the past week, I've been getting up later than I'd like. But that also meant that I stayed up a later and worked on my writing. That's going well now.
I played the new guitar tonight with all three of my amplifiers, and it was pretty awesome. I came up with a great new riff, too.

I had a pretty bad day yesterday. I was feeling terrible when I got up. Actually, the funny thing is that I had gotten up a bit earlier and felt fine, but I thought I'd be too tired if I didn't go back to bed for a little longer. Things got bad after I woke up again.
I haven't felt so bad in almost a year, although it wasn't nearly as bad as I've been back then. I had absolutely no "bad manic" episode symptoms or mixed states, thankfully.
Again, I had really bad nausea, anxiety (making the nausea even worse), some mild fever, chills, sweating, and it was almost impossible to sleep at all last night/this morning. I had some pretty intense thoughts and images in my mind that kept me from falling asleep. I've had this before over the past several years, especially during attacks. This is probably the Bipolar Disorder kicking in, but I'm pretty sure the virus had something to do with it, too. It weakened me so much that my mind became vulnerable.
I had to take much more vitamin B12 and such than usual, since it didn't seem to be working, and I couldn't deal with this… it's like having a nightmare while you're awake. I also tried all kinds of herbal relaxants, and they didn't do too much or for very long, but they did help. It's a shame there is no simple solution, because I'm sure I'm not the only one who suffers this much.
I had to see the Chiropractor yesterday despite all of this, and she seemed a bit surprised by how bad I was feeling, but impressed that I was able to manage without medication… it rarely works anyway.
I'll be going back on Friday to get an extra adjustment. I'll probably need it. She'll have some information for me about getting a new mattress made from natural materials.
Obviously, the toxic waste foam stuff is the last thing I need, although the one I have now may have some in it mixed in with all the cotton fluff… it's 10 years old, so it's pretty much finished anyway.

I've decided to start collecting Weenie Babies. I want to get all of them for my collection. They're so cute!

Things are still changing, and I didn't go to bed at all yesterday morning or afternoon.
I only started getting tired after 5PM, and that still wasn't as bad as the fatigue I had recently after sleeping 10+ hours a day.
I managed to get some sleep between 9PM and 4AM. This has to be the first time in many years that I've been able to sleep after 1AM and before 7AM or so. It was just impossible to sleep between those hours before, even with sleeping pills, sleep deprivation, and whatever else I tried. Maybe it was because of my spine, but the strange thing about that is that it seemed to be getting a little worse again lately, and the fatigue surely was…
The plan right now is to sleep between 12AM-7:30AM, with an hour long nap before and/or after lunch when needed. I'm not quite there yet, but I'm getting there.

I hope I didn't cause anyone to worry with my last post. I was very depressed and I wanted to share how that was affecting me.
I will go to the Emergency Room if I have to. I won't die

Happy Easter everyone
I got a new Arnold Palmer short sleeve shirt, some chocolate, and some $$.
I came across a very interesting article: Ban the Bulb?
| QUOTE |
| In a few weeks the US Congress is likely to vote to phase out the standard incandescent lightbulb within a decade. The frantic race to see who can best appease the global warming alarmists will claim another victim, the friendly glow of the direct descendant of Thomas Edison's filament-based light bulb |
I think this is extremely stupid, and Canada will likely do the same, unfortunately.
The compact fluorescent bulbs save energy, sure, but they contain mercury… and you know where they will end up, since they never last as long as they claim on the package.
Peak energy consumption is always on hot summer afternoons, and people have many lightbulbs lit then, don't they?
This comes from the same brilliant people who decided that extending Daylight Saving Time would save energy. It didn't.

I had an interesting dream today. It was a summer afternoon. I bought some new guitar pedals, and decided to play with them outside on my front porch when I got them home, for some reason.
The new distortion/overdrive pedal I had was great. I really enjoyed playing with it, and I attracted the attention of some babes.
But it started to rain very hard. The rain was so bad that it was coming out of the gutter like a waterfall, and dripping under and along the roof fascia onto my new pedals… that was the end of my fun, with the pedals that is. I managed to save my guitar and amp, and the babes came inside with me to escape the rain. The babes got pretty soaked… ]:->
It was certainly better than the dream I had a couple of years ago, where I was playing the guitar in the street and got hit by lightning…
Back to reality, I finished another set of lyrics for a song, and started working on a couple more songs. I'm finding that having a concept/theme for each song makes it much easier to draw ideas for the lyrics. I'm getting really good at this

I saw the Osteopath today. My pelvis and spinal cord remained straight and balanced. That was the good news. The bad news is that it's pretty much all he can do for me, and I have been feeling worse lately, so I will have to try something else… I need a cute nurse :’(
When I got home, I wasn't feeling well enough to have dinner, so I went back into my lair to listen to some Danko Jones. Then the power went out. It was a pretty long power outage, from 8:17PM to 11:42PM… in other words, 3 hours and 25 minutes of fun
It did give me a chance to test my new UPS. It worked fine, although it doesn't run as long as the others. With the other UPSs, I was able to stay online and keep the music going for about 30 minutes, before having it all shut down. Power would usually be restored by then, but not this time.
When the power returned, my Linksys 8 port Gigabit switch seemed to be fried. It didn't work at all for a while, with strange flickering of the LEDs and all the ports were not connected. I unplugged it several times, but it didn't help. I just let it run its light show, and it started working normally just now <_<
I deleted a bunch of old song lyrics I wrote that I thought were no good, so I'm now down to 75 files. I'm going to write a song about power outages and the power grid now…

Today, I received (should have yesterday, but they delivered it at a bad time) a new UPS from Dell, an APC ES 750. It was a great deal, and they had free shipping
I bought this because it only cost a bit more than a new battery, and it will be useful to have another one. The battery is much newer (it says 2/3/2007) than some of the units I bought at stores like Future Shop in the past. I've had one that had a battery more than one year old (but on sale, thankfully), which is not good because they have to be replaced every 3 or 4 years.
I've also finished the lyrics for a song I'd been working on for a while, and started working on another song today.
Have a look at the Railwolf.com Music section for more status information…

My Amazon.com order arrived today.
CD:
Steppenwolf: The Second
Jimi Hendrix: Axis: Bold as Love
I've made a few changes/additions to the Railwolf.com links section, and added a new music section to the site.
I had some trouble with Colossus yesterday morning. The Marvell Yukon onboard Gigabit Ethernet controller (one of two) has shorted out somehow.
It seems to be causing some minor problems with the USB ports as well. The UPS loses communication occasionally when I'm using the mouse, causing an annoying message to pop up in the system tray every time it happens.
I had a bunch of network cards around, so it was easy to replace, but still an annoyance.
And I still have Electrocuter2 in here with an unused WD2500JB on top of it…
